BFI is a manufacturer of a specialty product called Stripes. These are made with High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) in various colors, typically 4” or 2” wide. Illustrative photo below displays Lite Blue and Orange Stripes laminated to Black extruded sheets and then vacuum formed in different configuration by the end user. The purpose of the colored stripes is to identify the content inside the formed trays when stored on warehouse shelves or outdoors.
Stripes are made in various thicknesses, typically .005”or .010” thick depending on the depth of the draw of the vacuum formed parts. Deeper draws require thicker stripes to maintain color integrity. We can print stripes as shown in photo below.
We use high quality, light stable color pigments to protect stripes from UV fading.
Photo of stacked trays illustrates how ordinary Orange color can fade to Yellow when exposed to sun light and UV over a short period.
